There’s a moment in every woman’s life; especially Black women, when the fog starts to lift. When the lies we’ve been fed about our worth, our beauty, our power, and our capacity start to fall apart. And when that moment hits, it doesn’t shift you; it shifts your whole atmosphere!
Let me go ahead and say it out loud:The devil should’ve left me asleep.
He should’ve kept me doubting. He should’ve kept me silent. He should’ve kept me tired, insecure, and second-guessing my worth.
But once I remembered who I was and whose I was it was game over!
✨ So What Does It Mean to “Remember Who You Are”?
It’s not just about being confident or having a cute affirmation taped to your mirror (though, we love those too). It’s about returning to your divine identity. It’s about reclaiming the parts of you that got lost in survival, motherhood, marriage, divorce, careers, trauma, burnout, or just plain exhaustion.
Remembering who you are is about alignment and not perfection. It’s choosing to walk in your God-given authority and refusing to apologize for it.
💡 Strategies to Reclaim Your Power
Let’s not just talk about it… let’s walk it out. Here’s how I intentionally reclaimed my power and how you can too:
1. Audit Your Inner Circle
If your circle doesn’t water you, it’s time to replant yourself. Surround yourself with people who see you and speak lifeinto you. Stop trying to bloom in toxic soil.
2. Reclaim Your Voice
No more shrinking. No more over-explaining. Say what you mean. Ask for what you want. Set boundaries without guilt. Your “no” is sacred, and your “yes” should be intentional.
3. Unlearn the Lies
You are not too loud, too emotional, too much, or too ambitious. You’ve just been conditioned to believe your light is a threat. It's not. It’s your calling card.
4. Sit With Your Spirit
Quiet the noise. Whether it's journaling, prayer, meditation, or just taking 10 minutes to breathe in stillness… get back in touch with the God within you. Your power lives in your peace.
5. Take Up Space Unapologetically
Show up in the fullness of your identity. Wear the bold lipstick. Speak in the meeting. Launch the business. Ask for the raise. Start the blog. Take the picture. Post the reel. Live loudly. You weren’t born to play small.
6. Celebrate Every Win (Loudly)
Every boundary kept, every tear you didn’t apologize for, every time you stood tall when you wanted to shrink; that’s a win. Acknowledge it. Celebrate it. You’re not being boastful; you’re being free.
👑 Final Word: You Are the Evidence
The devil underestimated your resilience. He banked on you staying lost in comparison, depression, imposter syndrome, and cycles of self-abandonment.
But here you are:
Healing.
Reclaiming.
Rebuilding.
Remembering.
You are the evidence that you can rise from anything. And once you remember who you are, you start walking different. Talking different. Loving different. Demanding different.
So let me remind you, sis! you're not spiraling, you're ascending. And everything connected to your name is already aligning in your favor.
I am the Evidence
